Lab – Blog

Back to HAM – Lab

On this page I maintain a blog on Lab-related activities; stuff like constructing drawers, routing electricity and Ethernet, etc.

[20240219] – Further Cleanup

Today, I sorted and stored the last components as part of the parts-storage reorganization.

[20240215-20240218] – Cleanup and Reorganization

These days I cleaned up and reorganized the Lab. In particular, I migrated from using storage cabinets with a large number of small drawers to using the Kuggis boxes from IKEA for parts storage. I disposed the cabinets, quite some obsolete stuff as well as a lot of packaging material.

[20240218-18:00:12] – Lab – The W side. Not that many changes here. There are some remaining parts on the bench that still need to be stored somehow.
[20240218-18:00:31] – Lab – The corridor in the SE corner. Well, it’s somewhat accessible again… Note that these is ample storage in the back of the corridor; I’m thinking of using this space for boxes for projects in the pipeline (trying to keep their number to four or so…), or in maintenance.
[20240218-18:00:38] – Lab – The E side has changed quite a lot with the introduction of the Kuggis boxes.

[20211117] – Chest of Drawers

Today I finished (well, somewhat) my first two Chests of Drawers in the Lab, and I populated them. The photo set also contains some random pictures of reconnecting the instruments.

Still to be done is a chest of drawers (number 03) for the (main) HP-70000.

[20211116] – Chest of Drawers

Today I worked on the Chest of Drawers in the Lab, using the recently delivered Junker slides and mounting brackets.

Also note that the drawers trey are resting upon has been reinstalled (it uses the “old” Junker 100kg/800mm sliders). The instrument at the bottom of the picture is my HP-8566B.

[20211110] – Junker Slides Delivery

Today, a new set of Junker slides was delivered. The photo set also contains pictures of the mounting brackets that were delivered (and ordered) many weeks earlier.
